The elevator traction machine is the core driving component of the elevator, and is called the "heart" of the elevator. Its performance directly affects the elevator's speed, starting and braking, acceleration and deceleration, safety and operational reliability and other indicators.
(1) China has become the world's largest elevator market and manufacturing center
With the development of global urbanization and the continuous increase of high-rise buildings, the global elevator market continues to grow. According to KONE statistics, the number of newly installed elevators in the world continues to rise. In 2007, the number of newly installed elevators was 495,000 and reached 750,000 by 2013. The number of elevators in the world has exceeded 12 million. China's newly installed elevators account for more than half of the world's total, making it the fastest-growing market.
In recent years, with the rapid development of China's real estate and urban public construction, the market demand for the elevator industry has shown a rapid growth trend. According to statistics from the China Elevator Association, the production and sales of elevators (including escalators) in China increased from 72,000 units in 2003 to 624,000 units in 2013, with a compound annual growth rate of 22.06%, making China the world's largest elevator market and manufacturing center. While elevator production continues to increase, China's elevator exports have also shown a strong growth momentum, increasing from 3,700 units in 2003 to 66,000 units in 2013, with a compound annual growth rate of as high as 33.4%. (2) The global elevator market is relatively concentrated
At present, the global elevator, escalator and maintenance and protection market totals approximately 75 billion U.S. dollars. The market share is basically monopolized by eight famous brands such as Otis, KONE, Schneider, Thyssen, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Hitachi, and Fujitec.
(3) China's elevator market will continue to maintain rapid growth
At present, although China's elevator demand exceeds more than half of the global demand, there is still a big gap between China's elevator popularity and the level of developed countries in Europe and America. In the next few years, driven by factors such as the growth of commercial real estate, the construction of urban infrastructure, the construction of social housing, the renovation of old elevators and the renovation of old buildings, and the development of export markets, China's elevator production will maintain a rapid growth trend. Taking comprehensive consideration of the country's regulatory policies on commercial housing, the renewal of old elevators and the slow release of old building renovation and other factors, conservative estimates show that by 2015, the demand for elevators in China will reach 782,000 units.
